Twenty-plus years working as a Concept/Visual Development Artist in storytelling/entertainment design. Short Story I would best describe my work to lie between the worlds of Concept Art for games and Visual Development for animation, with a good chunk of my experience being in visual effects for film. My skills are best suited at the beginning of a project for initial wide-lateral exploration and ideation, spanning stylised to realistic, utilising both 2d and 3D. Long Story Most of my professional work has involved composing keyframes featuring environments and FX concepts; but I have been steadily moving towards Character Design in my personal work, which I find more challenging and rewarding. Given the opportunity, I am happy to do both on any given project. I work and think primarily in 2D, but over the years have increasingly intergrated 3D in my work (zbrush, keyshot and even Maya in the past, but these days I primarily use Blender.) I am very open and eager to expand deeper into 3D if given the opportunity, situated in a full-time studio setting. I have delved a bit into Ai, (Midjourney) which I have used for quick iteration based on my concepts. Eligibility: Italy and the US (preferably NY where I have lived - or CA - which is where I am from). My experience includes living and working in US/AUS/NZ/UK/IT. I have been very fortunate to travel with work and open to new places and experiences if the right opportunity presents itself. Types of film projects I gravitate to: The weird and the uncanny, skirting the edges of sci-fi horror but still rooted in a believable universe. I also love dark-comedy family dramas. Whymsical? Cute? I do cute. I have a three year old. Peppa...Shaun The Sheep....GruffaloWorld. I love cute. Cute is good. Currently I am developing two personal projects that span book illustration, toy design and an animated short.
