When Magic Hurts (2024) – Original Motion Picture Score

I composed the original musical score for When Magic Hurts (2024), a romantic comedy feature film. The score was crafted to support the film’s emotional journey, balancing heartfelt moments, lighthearted charm, and comedic timing through original thematic music.

Working closely with the film’s narrative, I developed musical themes that enhanced character relationships, complemented the pacing of each scene, and reinforced the emotional arc of the story. The score blends cinematic orchestration with contemporary elements to create a warm and engaging musical experience that supports both the romance and humor throughout the film.

My work on When Magic Hurts received industry recognition with a nomination for Best Musical Score at the 73rd FAMAS Awards (Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences), highlighting the impact of the film’s music and my contribution to its storytelling.

This project demonstrates my ability to create emotionally driven, narrative-focused scores that strengthen character development and elevate the overall cinematic experience.
