paper Taste The Arts Festival (Work Examples in PDF Download)
Taste the Arts is Tulare County’s largest art festival. This Downtown Visalia event hosts over 100 artists annually, celebrating the rich cultural and artistic heritage found in the Central Valley. Designing for Taste The Arts involves promotional materials to advertise the event, along with informational graphics for navigating the event. Informational graphics focus on the featured artists and clearly communicate information about them, while using recurring graphics and color palettes reinforce the event’s visual identity. For 2025’s promotional materials, a custom illustration was created that ties together culinary and visual art tools, reflecting the craftsmanship of participating artists. Although the artwork was integrated into a wide variety of formats to present event information, every design still reinforces a single, coordinated event.

Watermark is an annual 64-page magazine containing stories about Tulare County arts, Arts Consortium programs and informational catalogs for local artists, organizations and events. For 2024’s issue of Watermark, a new document grid and text styles were created, keeping page layouts connected and staying flexible for each section’s needs. These systems serve as a foundation, letting every story and list be presented in a clean, easy to navigate fashion. Building on this structure with custom-made graphics, distinctive compositions and curated photos allow each page to offer something captivating and new.
