Since they started, I’ve been helping CAOS.808, an electropunk perreo technocumbiero band with a French touch, build and maintain their visual identity. Their name, inspired by the electronic rhythms of the legendary Roland TR-808, served as the starting point for designing a logo that reflects their unique energy: a bold blend of 80s nostalgia and modernity.
For this project, I drew inspiration from the pixelated graphics of the 1980s and the arte chicha, typical of cumbia to create a maximalist and exciting visual identity. The logo, stylized and surrounded by repetitive geometric patterns, evokes both traditional textiles and a digital aesthetic. The neon colors and bold shapes make it instantly recognizable, perfect for representing their hybrid musical universe.
