Poem Illustrations

This series of illustrations is intended to create a visual sequence accompanying a poem by the Ukrainian artist Taras Shevchenko. The themes explored in this poem relate to motherhood, family comfort, and the joy of labor.
Since the author addresses themes of happiness and love, a drawing technique was used to convey ephemerality and transience. The images are semi-transparent, dreamlike, and reflect the mood of the poetry, which carries a similar sense of softness and emotional fluidity.
