Kezia Terracciano alias Keziat, is an Italian visual artist, scenographer, animator and illustrator born in San Severo (Apulia, Italy) and currently based in Rome. She graduates at the Academy of Fine Arts in Foggia in 1998 and since then has presented her works in Venice, Rome, Paris, Florence, New York, Hong Kong, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, Stuttgart, Perth, Kuala Lumpur, Porto, Jakarta, Milan, Helsinki, Ljubljana, Singapore, Bangkok, Miami, Johannesburg, Sarajevo and Washington Dc. Her artistic practice spans painting, illustration, comics, animation, video art, video mapping, installations, and multimedia scenography, with a strong focus on the intersection of visual art, theatre, music, and performance. After an early phase dedicated mainly to painting on canvas, she progressively expanded her research into digital media and interdisciplinary practices. Alongside her studio work, she has collaborated as an illustrator with major international publishers, including Encyclopedia Britannica, Synergebooks, and publishing houses in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. In 2009 she began her first major artistic cycle, Visionaria, a project combining large-scale ink drawings, video, installations, and performances, which later evolved into an international exhibition series hosted by museums, galleries, and Italian Cultural Institutes worldwide. Her video work "Memoria di un Folle" won the MAGMART International Video Art Festival in 2010 and was acquired by the Contemporary Art Museum of Casoria. In 2015 her work "Sounds" entered the permanent collection of the National Art Gallery of Kuala Lumpur following her participation in Art Expo Malaysia. Subsequent projects, including Hybrids and Introspective, further strengthened her international profile, with exhibitions and performances in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa, including a presentation at The Centre for the Less Good Idea in Johannesburg, founded by William Kentridge. In parallel with her visual art practice, she has developed a significant career in theatre, creating video scenographies and visual environments for major productions by directors and playwrights such as Jesper Halle, Svein Tindberg, and Gianluca Iumiento. Keziat continues to explore narrative, imagination, and visual storytelling through contemporary and experimental artistic languages.
