Galway Simon Community was set up in 1979 by a group of volunteers who refused to accept homelessness on the streets of Galway. With the support of the wider community, they have grown, developed, learned and adapted over the years to become a leading provider of homeless and homelessness prevention services in the region.
Galway Simon Community supports a person’s right to security, dignity and wellbeing in their own home. They are committed to finding answers to the questions faced by real people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.
It was an honour for Bad Dog to help with a complete new Wordpress website and custom donation system integration - this organisation and its people do the incredible work that sometimes goes unnoticed - not by us!

Elephant’s mission is is simple, they want to add some fun and style to your home. Supersize your downtime with their great range of funky beanbags.
As Elephant grew they needed a more robust online offering, something reliable, extensible and easy to manage. Bad Dog chose the Shopify platform for its ease of use, security and speed. Shopify is serving the team at Elephant extremely well with sales growing year on year.
As many sales are made on mobile as are on desktop so responsiveness was key in our build - Shopify’s self hosted platform make this an easily achieved goal - our developers had them up and running in no time.

Kai
Kai Restaurant is nestled between the church and a gay bar down on Sea Road in Galway’s Westend. The building which was home to a florist before New Zealander Jess and Carlow’s Dave Murphy arrived in over 10 years ago and transformed the space into what it is today, Kai.
Kai is the Maori word for food and in 2011 they opened the door with a simple formula — high-quality produce, preferably organic or wild, sourced locally and cooked intelligently.
This is easily in the top 3 restaurants in Galway town - we’d like to think we created a Squarespace website good enough to eat!

Sea Sessions is one of Ireland’s coolest festivals they combine music, surf and sport to create a very unique occasion in the northwest of Ireland each year. Bad Dog developed an easily managed Squarespace website for the festival and integrated a 3rd party ticketing engine to boot.
On the social side we assist in Advertising and Organic campaigns and create lots of digital and physical assets for the Sea Sessions team to use.

Water Safety Ireland has a huge amount of information to share in order to reach its goals of awareness and education. Organising this information and presenting it in a usable effective manner was the main challenge with this extremely complex content hierarchy. All relevant content from a number of websites was migrated to a new Wordpress website and re-presented in a more dynamic and useful manner. Ease of management was a concern for the client so we chose the most popular CMS system on our planet - Wordpress. Full CMS training comes as standard with our website build contracts.
Bad Dog also provided an annual hosting package for the Wordpress Content Management System on our dedicated, highly optimised and super-secure servers.

We wrote and submitted a successful application for the Enterprise Ireland “Online Retail Scheme” in conjunction with the client. Funding was awarded to implement a comprehensive raft of changes across all digital platforms, in particular the client’s Shopify store. All metrics are based on comparison between Q4 2021 and Q4 2022.
The outcomes and increase in all metrics are staggering and way beyond our initial targets - notably:
Sales attributed to digital marketing increased by 1,181%
Online sales increased by 150%
Conversion rate increased by 32%

Our client is a decades old bricks and mortar retail establishment based in Galway city. They have an enormous physical loyal clientele built over 40+ years. Their in-store trade is consistently busy but their online presence was underperforming massively and Bad Dog were tasked with bringing their digital footprint up to date and giving them a new competitive edge.
Before embarking on the project the client did not have any online strategy and in house they lacked the expertise and resources to create and implement an all encompassing Digital Marketing Strategy. Online sales were slow and inconsistent with no real online ’plan of attack’ in place. Metrics, (Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics), were not being reviewed and acted upon at all.
The client engaged Bad Dog to design and implement an all-encompassing Digital Marketing Strategy covering all the vital digital touchpoints for the brand. These included:
Implementation of proven tools and strategies to increase online sales, customer base and returning customers
Implementation of ongoing Google Ads Campaigns and Social Marketing
Implementation of Analytics tools to further improve performance
Provision of training and user guides for in house team to manage and improve online efforts going forward
