“Kalakkum Kalakalakkum” is the official musical tribute to the Madurai Chithirai Festival, one of Tamil Nadu’s grandest temple and cultural processions, celebrating the legendary journey of Lord Kallazhagar. This track brings to life the vibrant colors, spirited chants, and deep-rooted emotions of the local people during this iconic event.

Sung by the renowned cine artist Mathichiyam Bala and supported by a powerful ensemble of professional musicians from the Tamil film industry, Allagar showcases Manvasanai music at its finest—a genre known for its rural authenticity, raw percussion, and emotive melodies. The production draws from folk traditions like tharai thappattai, nadaswaram, and urumi, woven with cinematic orchestration to elevate the festival’s grandeur.

As the music producer and arranger, I coordinated the full project—from recording live sessions with folk artists and playback singers, to mixing and mastering the track for both digital platforms and large public broadcasts. The result is a culturally immersive anthem that resonates with thousands each year during the Azhagar Festival across the temples and streets of Madurai.
