    uniE621 Fall in New York
This project is a single editorial-style illustration of a squirrel, inspired by the visual language of publications like The New York Times. Rendered in watercolor, the piece focuses on subtle texture, controlled composition, and a quiet narrative tone. I aimed to create an image that feels observational and refined, capturing both the character of the subject and a sense of atmosphere. The project explores how minimal storytelling and restrained visual elements can still convey depth and personality within a single image. illustrator
    uniE621 Luellen Aldoa Solo Violinist
This project is a visual essay that combines illustration, typography, and interview-based storytelling. I interviewed a violinist who performs at a central train station and documented her story through both text and imagery. The project explores themes of everyday life, resilience, and quiet dedication. I translated her experiences into a series of illustrations, paired with editorial-style layouts and typography to create a narrative that feels similar to a magazine feature. By combining personal narrative with visual interpretation, the project aims to capture not only her story, but also the emotional atmosphere of the space she inhabits. graphicdesigner illustrator

    paper A Taste of Dreams
Original Children’s book Project A Taste of Dreams is a 32-page illustrated children’s book that explores the emotional landscape of dreams through symbolic imagery and visual metaphors. Created digitally in Procreate using colored-pencil textures, the illustrations combine softness with subtle surreal elements to represent emotions such as fear, curiosity, and hope. The project aims to help young readers recognize their inner feelings while encouraging emotional awareness and imagination. This work reflects my interest in connecting psychology, symbolism, and narrative illustration to make complex emotional experiences more visually approachable. illustrator
paper A Psychology Illustration Series: Animal Symbolism for Mental States
This series presents different psychological states through animal symbolism in the format of flashcards. Each card functions as a visual study of an emotional condition, using animals as metaphors for experiences such as anxiety, resilience, isolation, and adaptation. Inspired by my interest in psychology and cognition, these flashcards are designed as both symbolic illustrations and tools for reflection, translating complex internal experiences into simple, recognizable visual forms. illustrator
paper The Nightingale and the Rose – Watercolor Book Illustration
The Nightingale and the Rose – Illustration Project This project is a series of six watercolor illustrations inspired by The Nightingale and the Rose by Oscar Wilde, created for a young adult audience. The illustrations aim to visually interpret the emotional depth and symbolic themes of the original story, particularly sacrifice, love, and idealism, through a delicate and atmospheric visual language. The artwork was first developed using traditional watercolor techniques to capture softness, transparency, and a poetic mood that reflects the melancholic tone of the story. Afterward, subtle digital refinements were added in Procreate to enhance details, adjust lighting, and strengthen narrative focus while preserving the organic texture of the original paintings. This project explores the balance between traditional illustration and digital enhancement, as well as how classical literature can be visually reinterpreted to engage younger readers through expressive imagery and storytelling. illustrator illustrator
