The program was created to align with both industry standards and the practical needs of employment readiness, ensuring learners were equipped with the skills and confidence to secure entry-level roles in medical offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
🔹 Course Highlights:
Core Competencies: Medical terminology, appointment scheduling, patient records management, billing and coding basics, and front-desk professionalism.
Technology Training: Hands-on practice with industry-relevant software including EMR/EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools.
Professional Skills: Customer service, confidentiality and privacy (PIPEDA compliance), communication, and conflict resolution.
Job Readiness: Resume development, interview preparation, and workplace expectations in healthcare settings.
Assessment Tools: Quizzes, scenario-based evaluations, and a final practical project simulating a day in a medical office.
The course was delivered in a hybrid format, combining remote instruction, interactive modules, and facilitated group learning. It supported diverse learners, many of whom were re-entering the workforce or shifting careers, with a strong emphasis on confidence-building, accountability, and applied learning.
