Tiemdi - Lakay se Lakay

“Lakay se Lakay” reflects on the bittersweet experience of emigration, especially for Haitians who leave not out of lack of love for their homeland, but due to social and economic struggles. It contrasts the yearning for safety abroad with the loss of identity that comes from becoming just a “number” in foreign systems. The song expresses the longing for Haiti to become a place people can proudly call home, highlighting that true peace can only be found where one belongs.
