    uniE621 H2-DEIA Website and Branding
Project Description Focused on driving diversity in the hydrogen economy, H2-DEIA needed a bold brand and digital presence to amplify its mission. This project resulted in a unique visual identity and a scalable website designed in collaboration with Sparked Digital. Challenge H2-DEIA required a cohesive brand identity and an engaging website to effectively convey its mission. They needed a distinctive logo, colour scheme and typography that reflected their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the hydrogen economy. Additionally, a multilingual WordPress website was also essential to reach their global audience. Outcome The H2-DEIA brand and website establish a strong and professional identity that reflects the initiative’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the hydrogen sector. I developed multiple branding concepts that aligned with H2-DEIA’s vision, each offering a distinct look and feel while meeting their core criteria. This approach allowed the client to explore different creative directions before selecting a final identity that best represented their mission. The chosen brand features a clean, modern design. The logo, colour palette and typography work cohesively to establish a visual identity that is both professional and inviting. Designed for both aesthetics and functionality, the website is intuitive and easy to navigate, ensuring a seamless user experience for industry professionals, government stakeholders and academic partners. A clear information architecture and consistent design choices make it simple for visitors to access resources, learn about best practices and engage with H2-DEIA’s mission. Built with longevity in mind, the website (WordPress and Elementor) allows for flexibility and future scalability, enabling their initiative to grow and evolve alongside the hydrogen sector. With a solid foundation in both branding and digital presence, H2-DEIA is well-positioned to foster a skilled, diverse workforce and drive meaningful change in the global hydrogen economy. uniE621 Environmental Defence: Putting the Wheels on the Bus Report
Project Description Environmental Defence needed a bilingual report to spotlight Canada’s need to cut transportation-related emissions. This project delivered an accessible document that supported their advocacy with compelling visuals. Challenge When first speaking with Environmental Defence, they needed a compelling bilingual (English and French) report addressing Canada’s urgent need to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector, which accounts for a quarter of the country’s total emissions. They required a fully designed document with engaging visuals, data-driven graphics and impactful call-out quotes. Outcome With effective communication as the main driver of this project, a visually compelling, bilingual report would highlight the urgent need to reduce transportation-related emissions in Canada. After Environmental Defence finalized the content and structure, I made sure the report would be both engaging and accessible. The first step was to inject a cohesive visual identity (as this project is the extension of a preexisting campaign that I supported) and balance data-driven storytelling with striking, easy-to-digest design elements. I created a clean, modern layout that prioritized readability while integrating impactful call-out quotes, infographics and custom visuals to illustrate key findings. Color, typography and spacing were carefully chosen to enhance clarity and visual flow. Once the design concept was approved, we produced a fully bilingual, print- and digital-friendly report that met high standards for accessibility and professionalism. The final product provided Environmental Defence with a polished, visually engaging tool to effectively communicate their message and drive further meaningful climate discussions. graphicdesigner illustrator branding designer
uniE621 Environmental Defence: The Reconnection Project
Project Description A new initiative, The Reconnection Project, required a cohesive visual identity, regional logos and unique print materials to encourage people to reconnect with nature, local events and their neighbors. Challenge Environmental Defence needed a compelling brand identity and print materials to bring their campaign, The Reconnection Project, to life. My challenge was to create a brand that felt welcoming, vibrant and reflective of the project’s mission—one that would inspire people to reconnect. Outcome To achieve their goal, Environmental Defence required several logos that varied by geographic region, a visual identity, print materials and supporting graphics that would resonate with diverse audiences. My approach began with research and an initial strategy session to ensure The Reconnection Project’s brand identity aligned with its mission. I developed a visual identity that felt warm, inviting and rooted in nature, incorporating an organic color palette, modern yet approachable typography and a logo that reflected connection and community. The brand was designed to complement, not compete with, Environmental Defence’s existing identity. When creating key branded elements like the logo, I ensured it aligned with the organization’s established typography, size and structure. This approach allowed The Reconnection Project to feel like a natural extension of Environmental Defence rather than a separate entity, reinforcing a cohesive and recognizable brand presence. From there, I created a suite of branded materials for print and web, including posters and a hiking guide, that ensured consistency across all touchpoints. Each piece was designed to be engaging, accessible and visually compelling, making it easy for communities across Ontario to connect with the initiative. Additionally, the materials were all transferred over to the client so they could edit and provide materials to their Regional Coordinators at a moment’s notice. The result was a cohesive and recognizable brand that effectively communicated The Reconnection Project’s mission. With these materials, Environmental Defence could inspire greater participation, increase awareness and strengthen community engagement. The new brand identity provided a strong foundation for the campaign to grow and make a lasting impact. graphicdesigner illustrator designer branding
