I’m Adam, I’ve a wealth of experience as both technical writer and learning designer. Since my last contract completion in July ’25, I have been updating my skillset; focussing on new tools in the Learning Design landscape. It’s clear that things are evolving rapidly and we IDs must keep up. I’m working with Mindsmith and Notion for more efficient creation of training material and have been experimenting with N8N and Docker, hosted locally, for building AI Agent workflows. My intent is to show examples of what I’ve long hoped to create: Relevant, individualised branching training that responds to user inputs and demonstration of knowledge on the fly, so that you as an organisation can ensure the effectiveness of your training dollar. I’m also updating my TAE credentials for the second time, as I’ve been training for about 23 years now. A few past highlights are noted below. After a start in the graphics industry in the early 90s (Photoshop version 2, QuarkxPress and Illustrator), I taught myself web design and began teaching in 2001 for a web design firm and also for Melbourne University and Swinburne school of design. I created my first curriculum while training short courses for Melbourne University. I wrote my first four safety training courses from units of competency in 2009. I ran my own safety training company for a couple of years around 2013, hosting both public classes and school sessions for the construction induction (White Card). During this time I also developed, marketed and taught a boys mentorship program called 16-20. I was asked to manage an eLearning firm in 2015, whose main clientele were big medical across the east coast. I’ve been mostly in the eLearning space ever since. In the last several years I have been engaged on contracts for organisations including: TAFE Department of Transport AreMedia (Consolidated press) Pro AV Solutions I’m comfortable with Learning Management Systems, know my way around all the supporting documentation for VET courseware and have excellent references to provide if asked. I don’t need a lot of hand holding and though a social person, I like to get on with the work.
