Hi! I'm Aromie Kim, a 2D concept artist based in New York City. I specialize in creature and character design for games and animation, I'm keen to learn more and collaborate on the "Likemind" project because it resonates with my own thematic / aesthetic interests. As an artist, I follow a design philosophy that strongly revolves around the process of adding believability to the unbelievable, organic qualities to the otherworldly, and elegance to the grotesque. Storytelling is paramount in my process. I always consider lore, context and atmospheric presence for every creature and character I craft to make the most unique impact I can. To do so, I research and extensively study cultural, historical and biological matters for inspiration. My concepts have been praised by my clients for being distinct, entertaining and nicely balancing form and function. I've worked with indie studios and private clients and am knowledgeable about the workings of remote-based work. I am quick to respond to feedback, and I am flexible in adjusting to different styles and work flows in a fast-paced environment. I've worked in a variety of situations that called for different artistic styles and can adapt quickly and easily, Should a situation arise where a change in tactic or knowledge of a certain skill is needed, I am dedicated to accomplishing the task as efficiently as possible. In my experiences, whether I was working independently or with a team, I practiced constant communication and collaboration with my peers and supervisors. I constantly paid careful attention to production requirements to quickly evolve and provide design revisions and iterations at different stages. If I sound like a potential fit for this role, I'd love to be considered. Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to any future response!
