I started my musical journey as a drummer and led my own band at 15. I’m an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, film/TV composer, songwriter and producer with over 30 years of experience. I have produced scores for the features Nada É Por Acaso, Oito Segundos, o Desafio and the animation My Big, Big Friend, The Movie. I have aso written scores for Globo, Canal Brasil and Record, while working as an arranger and producer for many of Brazil’s top artists. In 1995 my composition Catedral, sung by Zélia Duncan, enjoyed the most airplay in Brazil.
I have recorded some of my scores with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Tallinn Orchestra and the St. Petersburg Studio Orchestra. In 2020 I co-authored and orchestrated Carwyn Ellis and Rio 18 with the Wales BBC Orchestra; the album released in 2021 was named one of Mojo Magazine’s 10 best World Music albums. My work for Globo Network includes The Voice Brasil, The Voice Kids Brasil and Popstar. I have international recognition including an Emmy nomination for Kids: Non-Scripted and Latin Grammy accolades, including a 2015 win for the album Suricato, “Sol-Te”.
