The Honest Queen — Book & Cover Design

The Honest Queen is a dark fairytale retelling that turns the classic Cinderella story on its head. In this reimagined world, beauty isn’t defined by glass slippers or charm—it’s measured by truth, courage, and the honesty of one’s heart.

The book follows Drizella Tremaine, long dismissed as the jealous stepsister, as she unravels the web of lies spun by Cinderella, the kingdom’s perfect facade. Amid betrayal and illusion, Prince Henry learns that love isn’t found in perfection, but in the light of sincerity that Drizella embodies.

The cover design visually mirrors this transformation: regal tones, fractured glass motifs, and a crown of truth symbolize Drizella’s rise from shadow to sovereignty.

This project highlights my creative direction in concept development, visual storytelling, and thematic design, blending literary depth with striking aesthetics to bring a redefined fairytale to life.
