Project Description
Pivoting in Heels is a platform that gives voice to women leaders in their different sectors of activity. The English expression “Pivoting in Heels” can be interpreted in Portuguese as a metaphor, an approach to leadership, an expression that celebrates the resilience, intelligence, and grace of contemporary African women. This work documents the trajectory of women leaders in Mozambique whose impactful stories reflect the daily reality of their leadership in organizations, addressing technological and sociocultural challenges.
The book also portrays some moments of great uncertainty brought about by COVID-19, where many women saw their dreams and trajectories interrupted and had to change the course of their professional journeys, as well as reinvent themselves and discover new ways of being. Their bravery and resilience inspired every page of this work entitled Pivoting in Heels.
Pivoting in Heels is more than a book. It is a Pan-African movement that has broken down sociocultural barriers towards equality and women’s emancipation. This movement is already making itself felt in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, and Nigeria.
Audiovisual Communication Assistant
During five years at World Vision Mozambique, I led multimedia production and strengthened the national visual identity, creating videos, photographs, institutional materials, and ensuring branding standardization across all offices. I acted strategically in the management of digital platforms, contributing directly to the
growth of the Facebook account from 7,000 to 15,000 followers and to the creation and management of the LinkedIn page, which grew from 0 to over 30,000 followers in just eight months. My work integrated creativity, consistency, and strategic vision, elevating institutional communication and expanding the impact of humanitarian initiatives across the country.
Multimedia Content Design Coordinator
At the Young Color Group, I worked in multimedia development for some of the biggest brands on the market, including Cervejas De Moçambique, TVCABO, Puma Energy, and TotalEnergies. My role included creating institutional and advertising materials, producing digital content for campaigns, developing motion graphics, capturing and editing videos, and providing creative support for marketing activities.
I worked on building results-oriented visual narratives, ensuring brand consistency and communicational impact in each piece produced. My approach combines technical rigor, modern aesthetics, and a strategic
understanding of the needs of competitive markets.
Each delivery contributed to strengthening the brands’ presence, improving audience engagement, and raising the visual standard of campaigns and digital communications.
This is a book that tells the story of 50 of Mozambique’s leading women working in various areas of the labour market.
