Hi! I'm a cheerful and outgoing animation artist with a deep passion for storytelling, design, and character development. I began my freelance journey in 2023 as an illustrator and graphic designer, but soon found my true creative path in animation — particularly character animation, modeling, and visual design.     paper SF Moma: Kay Sekimachi Oral History Animation

    This animated short brings to life the oral history of San Francisco native Kay Sekimachi, a pioneering artist whose innovative approach helped redefine fiber arts as a powerful form of artistic expression. Inspired by her Japanese heritage and formative experiences—including time spent in a Japanese internment camp under the guidance of artist Chiura Obata—Sekimachi’s story unfolds through a blend of 3D and hand-drawn animation.

    For this project, I designed and rigged all characters, animated a full 3D scene, and created original cel animation to enhance the visual narrative. The animation was produced using Blender, After Effects, and Procreate, combining digital and hand-drawn techniques to reflect the layered, tactile nature of Sekimachi’s weaving.

    This documentary series from SVT explores life with ADHD. I was responsible for all character animation in the recurring “tip” segments featured in each episode. The goal was to create clear, engaging, and pedagogical animations that communicate strategies and tools in a way that is accessible to both children and adults. The character designs were created by illustrator Pernille Sihm, while I handled all character animation – from rigging to motion design and timing – using After Effects. One of the main challenges of the project was the tight production schedule, with many minutes of animation to be delivered in just a few days. This required communicating ideas efficiently with minimal means and quickly developing visual solutions that were both clear and expressive.
