This project involved composing and producing the Official Orientation Jingle for the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), Universitas Brawijaya. The jingle was crafted to welcome and energize incoming freshmen, while simultaneously serving as a sonic representation of the faculty’s identity as a hub for humanities, arts, languages, and cultural studies.

To capture the vibrant energy of youth while honoring deep cultural roots, the arrangement seamlessly blends two contrasting musical worlds:
Alternative Rock Energy: Driven by powerful guitar riffs, dynamic distortion, and punchy drum beats to build an anthem-like, uplifting, and forward-moving atmosphere.
Ethnic Elements: Infused with traditional Indonesian instrumentation—such as gamelan scales, regional percussion rhythms, and traditional woodwinds—to give the track an authentic, mystical, and exotic texture.

Aligned with the core pillars of the faculty, the jingle carries a powerful message of unity in diversity.

“Tesso Nilo in Ashes” is a haunting, cinematic dark ambient track that captures the tragic destruction of Sumatra’s vital rainforest. Through a somber blend of deep sub-bass, mourning drone synths, and tense atmospheric layers, the music mirrors the grief of an ecosystem collapsing under environmental disaster. The soundscape is heavily layered with visceral textures: the terrifying crackle of an advancing forest fire, the hollow thuds of falling canopies, and the suffocating echo of wind carrying smoke. Amidst the chaos, faint, distorted calls of wildlife fade into the background, symbolizing irreversible loss. As the piece progresses, the fiery roar gives way to an eerie, post-apocalyptic silence—leaving the listener stranded in a desolate landscape of ruins and ash.
