"I've known Tim since 1999, when a friend of mine told me about an art project he was running, and described Tim as a talented musician and sound designer who was achieving impressive results on the project. At the time I was looking for a musician to create some specially composed tracks for the film I was making for Channel 4’s premier documentary series, Cutting Edge. It was meant to explore our peculiar relationship with air travel. We titled it, ‘Plane Crazy’. Tim came ‘onboard’ and was very responsive to the material we’d shot and the graphics sequences we were building, and composed some original tracks that synchronised beautifully with the edited film. The Channel 4 commissioner enjoyed Tim’s work and ‘Plane Crazy’ was well received. Since that time, I’ve worked with Tim on a number of documentaries. Tim scored all the music on a two-part Channel 4 series I did in 2003 about the artist and inventor Leonardo Da Vinci (entitled ‘Leonardo’s Dream Machines’). He also worked with me on a three part series about the origin stories of the world’s great spices for BBC2 in 2011 (‘The Spice Trail’). Tim consistently supplied innovative and original compositions that dove-tailed well with what we were creating in the edit. Tim is an insightful and hard working composer. He’s quick to understand what film makers are endeavouring to create and provides original and innovative musical solutions that elevate the film’s message. I’ve always found him a valuable asset to the film-making process, and would recommend him to anyone seeking a composer and sound designer."
