I'm Michael Garland, a New York-based author and illustrator celebrated for children's picture books. I've written and illustrated forty-four titles and illustrated more than fifty books by other authors—work that has brought me recognition, including Miss Smith's Incredible Storybook, which won the California and Delaware State Reading Awards. I've collaborated with publishers across the industry and even created cover art for Forbes, Fortune and Newsweek. In addition to my book work, I'm an active fine artist with gallery shows and awards; my painting Lattice Face won a Silver Award at the Mark Twain Library Art Show.
