    Vergo - A two-sided property maintenance platform with AI-assisted bid comparison
    Vergo connects property managers with service providers. A manager creates a maintenance order for a building, such as an electrical repair or a repaint. Approved providers visit the site, prepare a quote and bid for the job. The platform compares the bids for the manager. It builds a price benchmark for each trade from past invoices and completed orders, scores every bid and recommends one. Property owners follow the orders and spending on their buildings in their own portal. What I built: I was the only developer on Vergo. I designed the database, wrote the Laravel API and the React application, integrated Gemini, and deployed the platform. Accounts and roles: Separate sign-in and permissions for administrators, owners, managers and providers. Owners and providers sign in with a customer number and a one-time code sent by email. Order workflow: Inspection confirmation, quoting, publishing for bids, awarding and completion, with a notification to the right party at each step. Quote and bid form: Line items set by the manager, unit prices entered by the provider, automatic totals and VAT, schedule dates and photos per item. Price benchmark: A benchmark for each trade, built from the analysed invoices and from completed orders on the platform. Low-price check: A bid 20% or more below the benchmark is flagged and penalised, which protects the manager from unrealistic offers. Analytics and reports: Spending by property, unit and canton, order figures by month, and PDF exports. Order creation: A six-step form: property and units, inspection or direct order, trade and details, award type, provider selection and summary. Orders can be saved as drafts. Public and direct orders: A manager can open an order to all approved providers or send it to selected ones. Providers see both lists on their dashboard. Invoice reading with Gemini: Administrators upload past invoices as PDFs or photos. Gemini extracts the trade and the amounts, which gives the platform its first price data. Bid scoring: Each bid is scored out of 100: price 60, provider ratings 24, schedule 11, and experience with the property 5. Award decision: The best bid and the lowest offer are shown side by side. The manager can accept, decline, or ask the owner to approve. Supporting modules: Provider ratings, support tickets, document management, in-app notifications and a German and English interface. The manager always makes the final decision. The score and the written summary explain the recommendation, so the manager can see why one bid ranks above another.…
