I am Jes Benstock, an editor and animator based in London with extensive professional experience. I have made award‑winning short documentaries, short fiction, music promos and a feature‑length, theatrically released semi‑animated documentary. I started in theatre and comedy in Scotland. My playful humour and storytelling runs through my work, often tackling complex or difficult subjects with humour and a light touch. In recent years I have worked out of my own wee company Lemberg Films Ltd. My recent work includes Squat City 73, a cinematic 3D piece created in Unreal Engine for the Folkestone Triennial. I have created animations in After Effects for Urban Visuals and XTX Markets, a number of corporate animations and videos Future Talent Learning, and directed, animated and edited for the British Museum, NHS, English National Opera (including for Terry Gilliam’s. Faust) and Pears Family School. I have consulted and provided creative direction on animations for The School of Life, BUPA, Lloyds Bank and created multiple corporate B2B and internal films for Pictet, a Swiss bank.
