I am Jim Reeve-Baker, a Scotland-based professional podcast producer and audio editor specializing in experimental music, contemporary arts, and research-led creative work. I combine a PhD in Creative Music Practice with hands-on production experience to help artists, researchers, and cultural organisations shape complex material into clear, engaging, well-structured audio.
I work across the full production process—from editorial development and interview shaping to structural editing, sound design, and final delivery. Since 2023 I have worked as an Independent Podcast Producer on Into the Noise and Artefacts projects, and I have been a Freelance Sound Engineer & Audio Specialist since 2007, providing studio recording, live sound, field recording, and editing services for bands, solo artists, and arts organizations.

Artefacts is a short-form editorial audio series responding to recent releases in experimental music. Episodes consist of concise written reflections followed by brief listening excerpts, with each programme organised around a specific editorial focus such as style, place, or subculture. The emphasis is on contextual listening rather than evaluative review.
Into the Noise is a long-form interview series featuring experimental musicians, artists, and composers. Each episode is structured around listening to selected works by the interviewee, using these as points of departure for discussion. The focus is on process, material, and context, with conversations developing organically across technical, conceptual, and aesthetic concerns.
