The organization is seeking a contract Data Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, analytics solutions, and dashboards on cloud-based data platforms. The role will support program needs by leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and integrations with Salesforce and/or Curam/Oracle. Key Responsibilities Analyze source systems and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services. Build and manage Salesforce data ingestion workflows, including API integrations, schema alignment, and performance tuning. Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and semantic layers for Power BI reporting and analytics. Optimize Synapse pipelines, SQL queries, and data storage for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, Salesforce API issues, and Power BI dataset or dataflow refresh problems. Requirements At least 5 years of hands-on experience configuring, designing, developing, and testing Power BI dashboards. At least 5 years of experience supporting Power BI datasets, dataflows, and DirectQuery/Import models. At least 3 years of experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats, including JSON, CSV, and Parquet. At least 3 years of experience designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using platforms such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks. At least 5 years of advanced SQL experience, including query writing, ETL/ELT, performance tuning, and optimization. At least 3 years of proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing. At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing efficient PL/SQL procedures. At least 2 years of experience with SQL, T-SQL, programming, scripting, and data query optimization. At least 2 years of experience with Azure cloud services, including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL, and monitoring tools. At least 2 years of experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
