Job Description

The organization is seeking a contract Data Engineer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, analytics solutions, and dashboards on cloud-based data platforms.

The role will support program needs by leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and integrations with Salesforce and/or Curam/Oracle.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze source systems and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services.
• Build and manage Salesforce data ingestion workflows, including API integrations, schema alignment, and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain data models, transformations, and semantic layers for Power BI reporting and analytics.
• Optimize Synapse pipelines, SQL queries, and data storage for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, Salesforce API issues, and Power BI dataset or dataflow refresh problems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience configuring, designing, developing, and testing Power BI dashboards.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting Power BI datasets, dataflows, and DirectQuery/Import models.
• At least 3 years of experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats, including JSON, CSV, and Parquet.
• At least 3 years of experience designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using platforms such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• At least 5 years of advanced SQL experience, including query writing, ETL/ELT, performance tuning, and optimization.
• At least 3 years of proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing efficient PL/SQL procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL, T-SQL, programming, scripting, and data query optimization.
• At least 2 years of experience with Azure cloud services, including Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL, and monitoring tools.
• At least 2 years of experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts such as star and snowflake schemas.
