Jocelyn Tan (b. 1994) is a composer, sheng instrumentalist and (aspiring) multidisciplinary creative currently based in London, UK. Driven by a keen interest in the ethnographic research and representation of traditional Singaporean cultural practices in online spaces, Jocelyn graduated with a Distinction in MA Music (Audiovisual Cultures) from Goldsmiths, University of London; previously a BA (Hons) Music (Composition) graduate from LASALLE College of The Arts, Singapore. Jocelyn's artistic endeavours often blend traditional and contemporary elements, reflecting a nuanced and multidisciplinary approach. Some of Jocelyn's notable works include the music for The Economist's "Drum Tower" podcast and "Jiak Kantang", a cross-disciplinary performance piece created in collaboration with dance choreographer Neo Jia Ling, as part of the EUROPA-ASIA Choreografic Residency Project 2019 by MOTUS Danza and world premiered in Siena, Italy.
