    Filmtheater de Nieuwe Uitkijk - www.uitkijk.nl

    For Filmtheater de Nieuwe Uitkijk, a cinema on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, I took full ownership of a website rebuild from the ground up. After years of frustration with an outdated WordPress site, they wanted something modern, fast, and built to last. I designed the architecture around a decoupled frontend built in Astro with Svelte islands for interactivity, paired with Directus as a headless CMS extended with custom logic.

    Beyond the core site, I built a fully custom webshop, a membership platform, and one-off donation support, along with payment, film-agenda/ticketing, and newsletter integrations via Mollie, Z-Tickets, and Mailchimp. All custom integrations query the database directly through KnexJS for performance, backed by carefully versioned, reversible migrations. I still manage the platform end-to-end today, including deployment, domain, SSL, and security via Crowdsec, running on a small Docker Swarm cluster I set up with Dokploy and Tailscale to reliably handle demand.
