Hello! I am currently seeking employment in the programming/development world. For the past 8 years I was working as a Senior Software Engineer at Zap Technology, an Australian based company that create Business Intelligence software. I worked in a small team with a massive stack of software, so this encouraged me to become a jack of all trades. We all needed familiarity in every aspect of our software, but my main focus was front end. We had custom UI and state management libraries that were used in our customer facing produce and many internal support tools. This was predominately React and TypeScript. However, I also have lots of experience in C#, .net, Angular, Git, Azure, and much more. We were always keen to try out the latest development tools and libraries and integrate them with our existing software. It was a constantly changing and exciting role! After I left Zap, I went back to uni to study a Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism). This is an area of interest for me personally, and while it was a challenge to enter a postgraduate course with no previous academic experience in the area, I enjoyed returning to study immensely (even after 10 years away!). In my free time I also have a few personal software projects in this space too. The most recent is a React native application which I am the lead developer for in a team of 3. It’s still early days, so the source code is currently closed. I consider myself excellent at solving complex and novel problems in the software space. I get a real kick out of writing “beautiful” code that not only runs efficiently, but can be easily read by other programmers. I’m a big fan of Uncle Bob’s Clean Code ethos. Below is a summary of my work and university experience. I am happy to attend an interview at a time that suits you, as well as provide references, academic history or private repo access upon request. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Jordan
