paper Print and social assets for an environmental film festival
LandxSea is Scotland’s first environmental film festival, taking place for its third year in Montrose. I was commissioned to come up with a new image for this year’s event, and to design all collateral for print and digital. This included building some assets in Canva and Powerpoint that the client could populate. I worked with images by a local photographer to find one that suited the existing brand. I also established a more unified colour palette to strengthen the brand and add flexibility and variation across all assets, including an A1 cross fold printed program, printed posters, postcards and bookmarks, pull up banners and cinema signage, on-screen displays used at screenings, digital assets for enews, website and social accounts, press advertising, Canva templates for social media, competition and promotional flyers, and a Powerpoint template to be used before screenings.
    paper Brand and website
Creating a brand for a new business is always so rewarding. I worked with the business owner to determine the creative direction, showing her mood boards first for approval. I developed a rich colour palette from some great photography that was supplied, and designed a unique and logotype which I then applied to a Wix website.
paper Brand, collateral, website design and build
The owners of a new accommodation venture in East Devon needed a fresh and appealing brand that reflects the location and personality of their offering. I started with mood boards to determine the brand direction, developing a broad colour palette from images of the local area. Once the direction was agreed, I developed strong but simple logotypes with a range of supporting floral motifs. A beautiful brand with flexibility that translates well into templates and site design.
paper Brand development for a commercial finance broker
ACF is a boutique consultancy that provides commercial funding solutions. The owner approached me for a comprehensive brand solution that could be used across all collateral. After consulting with the client to understand her unique business offering, I began with mood boards to decide the initial creative direction. Once the client agreed with this approach, I developed an original logo, typography, colours and graphic elements to flesh out the brand. I applied the approved brand to Word stationery, an animated logo gif for use in email, and a Wix website.
    paper I'm great at Canva
I've assisted many clients who wanted to use Canva for their ongoing marketing activities. I can set up your brand guide including all colours, fonts and graphics and then construct your templates for easy use, ensuring that all collateral is consistently branded and looks professional.
    paper Powerpoint expertise
I am an exceptional PowerPoint designer with a remarkable ability to transform ideas into visually compelling presentations. My keen eye for detail ensures every slide is polished, balanced, and engaging. I combine strong design principles with creativity, making complex information easy to understand and memorable. With a deep understanding of color, typography, and layout, I craft slides that captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact. Beyond aesthetics, I know how to structure a template with a wide range of master slides for ease of use.
    paper Brand design and collateral
An exciting opportunity to develop a separate brand for a commercial venture being launched by Womens' Aid East and Midlothian. The brand had to contain some elements of the charity brand but be able to function as its own entity that could attract its own investors.
paper Brand refresh and ongoing marketing support
Ace Aquatec are a global leader in humane technology for the aquaculture industry. They required a brand refresh to give them a strong platform to launch new products, enable their marketing objectives and expand their reach. Working closely with the Marketing Director to conduct competitor analysis, I developed a strong brand identity that set Ace Aquatec apart. A robust new brand and guidelines considered every touchpoint to ensure consistency while providing flexible modules within the brand. The new brand has received overwhelming positive feedback from customers at events worldwide. Ace Aquatec has been able to secure continued funding to forge ahead as the world leader in humane technologies for this important industry. I continue to work closely with the marketing team in a freelance capacity to fulfil all their design requirements.
    uniE621 Financial infographics
I was contacted by a UK-based business finance broking firm to design a sophisticated dashboard that they could promote via socials to drive engagement. Working from supplied sketches and bare Excel data, I designed a dashboard that would allow for data variations every week. The client didn’t have any brand guidelines or other materials to work from, but the rich colour scheme that I developed was impactful without looking immature. The dashboard design was adopted and reproduced over eight weeks as new data became available. The client’s network and referrals grew thanks to having timely content to share, and we went on to develop dashboards for other metrics.
paper A brand for my band
When I'm not working, I love to play tenor sax. I'm in a seven-piece blues band called The Barking Magpies. I designed this cost effective logo for us to use in all our promo materials, and since we had three gigs in a row this summer in Edinburgh, I felt a tour tee shirt was called for. It proved very popular at our recent gig and sold out, so no doubt I'l have to order more next time.
