The Challenge Create a complete digital e-book on the topic of flash photography – from idea and content to design and production. All content had to be developed independently, including the written material, imagery, and visual concept. The e-book should educate readers with basic photography knowledge and build upon that foundation in a clear and visually engaging way. The Approach I began by defining the structure and user flow of the e-book through a detailed table of contents. To maintain consistency and clarity, I created a modular two-column layout in Adobe InDesign, with each chapter colour-coded for orientation. All photographs – including examples, equipment shots, and “dos and don’ts” – were taken by myself in a controlled studio setting. To enhance user engagement, I included small interactive elements such as a quiz at the end of each chapter to reinforce learning. The Result A cohesive and educational e-book that combines visual storytelling, photography, and design to simplify a complex topic. The project demonstrates my ability to structure information, design for readability, and combine aesthetics with user-centred communication. design ebook photography layout indesign
paper Usability Testing for an Onboarding App

As part of my bachelor’s thesis, I developed and tested an onboarding app concept for the purchasing department at BMW.
Through usability tests with potential users, I evaluated a Figma prototype and derived concrete recommendations to improve the overall user experience.

    The Challenge

The goal of this project was to improve the onboarding experience for new employees at the Purchasing department of BMW. The existing onboarding process was time-consuming and unstructured, leading to inefficiencies and inconsistent training outcomes.
The concept aimed to streamline this process through a digital app that guides new employees through a personalized training plan, tailored to their specific role and schedule.

My task was to evaluate the usability and user acceptance of the first prototype and identify concrete recommendations for optimization.

    The Approach

To define the scope of evaluation, I first created use cases and user stories describing typical user goals and requirements within the onboarding process.
These scenarios formed the foundation for all subsequent testing activities.

I began with a heuristic evaluation, systematically assessing the prototype against established usability principles.
This allowed early identification of potential interface issues related to clarity, consistency, and feedback.

Building on these insights, I conducted usability tests in which participants interacted with the existing prototype based on the defined use cases.
Their observations, comments, and behaviors were analyzed to validate or challenge the heuristic findings.

In addition to qualitative feedback, I used the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire to quantitatively measure user satisfaction and overall usability perception.
Combining both methods provided a balanced view of objective usability issues and subjective user experience.

    The Result

The study revealed actionable insights that guided the refinement of the onboarding app’s structure and interaction design.
By integrating heuristic analysis, user testing, and quantitative measures, the evaluation provided a comprehensive understanding of user needs and system performance.
This project deepened my experience in usability evaluation and user research, demonstrating how analytical UX methods can uncover valuable design opportunities even without creating new interfaces.

    uniE621 Corporate Christmas Cards
For this client project, I photographed LEGO employee figures and transformed the image into a winter scene using Photoshop’s generative AI. The result is a playful, festive composition that merges real photography with AI-driven creativity. The Challenge The client wanted a unique and playful Christmas card design that reflected their brand identity — a company that represents its employees as LEGO figures. The task was to create a group photo of these figures and transform it into a warm, wintery scene suitable for a festive greeting card. The Approach I first photographed the LEGO employee figures in a studio setup, ensuring balanced lighting and composition. To bring the scene to life, I used Photoshop’s generative AI tools to expand and reimagine the background into a detailed winter landscape — complete with snow, soft lighting, and seasonal textures. Through iterative prompting and fine-tuning, I maintained full creative control, blending real photography with AI-generated elements seamlessly. The final composition combined authenticity and imagination: a personalized company greeting that felt both handcrafted and contemporary. The Result The project demonstrated how AI-assisted image generation can enhance creative workflows. By merging photography, design, and emerging technology, the cards captured the essence of modern visual storytelling. design graphicdesigner designer photoshop AI photography
