    uniE608 REFLECTIONS: A Symphony in 3 Movements
REFLECTIONS “I must turn my consciousness to a new task: I must reflect.” -J.P. Sartre There is, of course, a double meaning to the word ‘reflections’. Both are intended in the title of this work. It is simultaneously a deliberate act of contemplation on the past and an exploration of the echo of ideas and sounds. The latter is achieved through the use of technical and compositional techniques. The former is more subtle. It relies on the emotional journey traveled by the listener. If the music achieves its goal, this journey will be one of reflection, perhaps on a personal past, perhaps on collective history, hopefully both.
