Project: Marriage-focused dating app (MVP)
Role: UI / UX Designer — end-to-end mobile experience
Tools: Figma for micro-interactions, Zeplin for handoff
For this project I designed the mobile UI/UX for a Tinder-style dating app refined for people actively seeking long-term relationships and marriage. The goal was to create a calm, credible, and approachable experience that reduces noise and helps users make intentional connections not casual browsing.
I mapped the core user journey (onboarding → profile build → discovery/swipe → match → initial conversation) and focused on reducing friction at each step. The visual system prioritizes clarity and trust: soft yet confident color palette, generous spacing, readable typography, and clear affordances for actions (swipe/like/message). Microcopy was crafted to set expectations and encourage sincerity (profile prompts that invite thoughtful responses rather than vague one-liners).
Key outcomes of the design process:
A streamlined onboarding flow that balances speed (social/email signup) with quality (guided profile prompts).
A swipe/discovery screen optimized for focus: prominent profile card, simple controls, and subtle cues about compatibility.
Profile pages that emphasize relationship intent and values (short bio, preferences, “what I’m looking for” prompts) to distinguish the app from casual dating UIs.
Admin/demo profile management UI to keep the app feeling active at launch without confusing early users.
Prototypes showing realistic interactions and animated transitions for swiping, matching feedback, and the match-to-chat handoff.
What I delivered
Clickable mobile prototype (Figma) demonstrating the full onboarding to match flow.
High-fidelity screens: onboarding, signup/login, profile create/edit, swipe/discovery, match notification, chat preview, settings, and simple admin screen for demo profiles.
Design system basics: colors, typography, iconography, reusable components (cards, buttons, badges), and spacing rules for consistent scaling.
Interaction specs & handoff notes for developers (assets, behaviors, and accessibility guidelines).
Design highlights / decisions to call out
Intent-driven UX: profile prompts and UI language intentionally steer users toward long-term compatibility signals (values, dealbreakers, family goals).
Trust & safety emphasis: clear reporting and block affordances, privacy-first photo handling, and concise explanations of data usage to lower onboarding drop-off.
Focus-first discovery: simplified card layout to avoid choice overload; optional compatibility tags to help users decide quickly.
Scalable component library: built components to support quick iteration and future features like subscriptions, boosts, or advanced filters.
Accessibility: adequate color contrast, readable font sizes, and clear tappable areas for comfortable one-handed use.
I played a pivotal role in the development of ethmny.io, a Web3-focused website. My responsibilities encompassed both the user experience (UX) design, ensuring a seamless and accessible interaction for users, and the comprehensive WordPress design and implementation. This project allowed me to combine my passion for innovative Web3 technology with robust WordPress development skills to deliver a high-quality online presence.
