Back-End Developer wanted to join Alchemy - a company that provides the leading blockchain development platform powering millions of users in 197 countries worldwide. Their mission is to provide developers with the fundamental building blocks they need to create the future of technology.

As a backend systems engineer at Alchemy, you’ll be working with one of the most sophisticated and high-throughput distributed systems in the blockchain industry. You will be responsible for architecting and building new systems as well as improving existing ones for a platform that serves millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Control the entire product lifecycle, including identifying, designing, and building new features.
• Contribute to and lead discussions about backend design, stand-up meetings, and code reviews.
• Create and own best practices for backend application development, with an emphasis on high throughput, high reliability, and low latency.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing practices while maintaining Alchemy’s high technical quality standard.
• Create stable, high-coverage test cases for the features you intend to ship.
• Debug production issues across multiple services and layers of the stack.
• Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and designers.

Requirements:

• 5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend software components required (experience with API platforms a plus)
• The ability to solve complex design, scaling, latency, and performance issues in high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Experience with AWS technologies is preferred.
• Experience with distributed systems in production, web applications, and microservice architecture
• Development experience with Java (Micronauts), Typescript (Node), and/or Python (Django)
• Proven track record of developing highly available and scalable systems
• Self-motivation and the ability to execute new ideas autonomously are required.
• Learn how to strike the right balance between perfection and speed.
• Web3 experience is preferred.
• A plus if you have founded a company or built side projects.
• Experience with startups is advantageous.
