We seek a creative and passionate Senior Combat AI Engineer to join our team and help design the most intelligent and thrilling gameplay experiences for our players. If you have a deep understanding of game AI development and a proven track record of creating believable and engaging combat AI, we want you!

Responsibilities

• Work with the AI engineering combat team to expand our AI technology to push the limits of what our Combat AI can currently do.
• Work alongside our design and content teams to develop new AI characters and behaviors.
• Design and implement optimized AI systems

Requirements

• Excellent C++ programming skills, with knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Familiarity and practical experience with core AI technologies - Behavior trees, animation state machines, pathfinding, and steering
• A passion for AI technologies and an understanding of the AI & design principles behind games
• Fluency in 3D math and algebra related to game programming
• Strong design sensibilities and outstanding communication skills.
• Solid debugging skills
• Experience extending an established code base
• 5+ years of experience as an AI, Animation, or Gameplay Engineer (or similar experience)
• Strong familiarity with Unreal 4/5 Engine.
• Ability to work well in a fluid, changing environment as creative challenges evolve
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Behavior Trees
  • Animation - blend trees, IK, motion matching
  • AI navigation mesh generation, pathfinding, and steering
  • Optimization

Bonus

• Open-world game development experience
• Experience with Unreal Gameplay Ability System (GAS)
