The UX/UI Designer works closely with the Design Manager, Design Leads, Design Research team and members of the design and product teams to analyze and understand the needs of the target users and how they perform tasks to create an imaginative, unique, and innovative user-centric solutions to support our products and services in the energy field. This role will look at the big picture and understand what problem needs to be solved by collaborating with our research and product teams to create elegant solutions. This person is a skilled quick thinker with meticulous problem-solving skills who knows how to balance independent work with team collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the creative leads, design and research team members, product managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that feature work is in line with KPIs and the creative voice of the brand.
• Work directly with the Design Manager and Director of Design on all aspects of creative execution, from planning through the production and delivery phases.
• Understand problem spaces and opportunities within them and develop strategies to own the work of the design team and drive innovation with thought and purpose.
• Assist the Design Manager in ideating on decks, storyboards, interactions and design system components to be on-brand and visually compelling within a well-established, large energy company.
• Ensure all visual storytelling and design for the organization is smart, engaging, exciting and well-executed.
• Apply keen attention to detail throughout each step of the creative process.
• Advocate on behalf of the customer through design thinking and the utilization of research findings.
• Help to inspire, motivate, and guide the members of the design and product organizations.
• Mentor emerging design talent in understanding the right balance between business, design and end-user needs.
• Care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related work experience OR 10+ years of related work experience
• Impressive portfolio that highlights design process and a strong grasp of visual or interface designer
• Familiar with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Sketch, Axure, Invision) and methodologies
• You have experience with rapid prototyping and visualization
• You have proficiency in using style guides and working with design systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting fast-changing business organizations
• Experience using dashboard / graphical user interface design tools
• Familiar with UX design methodologies
• Experience working in an Agile environment, with cross-functional teams
• Strong relationship management skills
• Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks
• Highly self-motivated with attention to detail
