Job Summary

Cheddar News is looking for a Freelance Videographer to join our dynamic team in NYC. Videographers are the backbone of our content workflow and are responsible for the visual aesthetic of our programming

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit long and short-form video pretapes as well as live field hits.
• The ability to collaborate with anchors and field reporters during high-pressure situations.
• Basic editing utilizing Premiere Pro and other software tools in the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Set up proper 3-point lighting for shoots.
• Properly set up and monitor audio for Studio or ENG shoots.
• Effectively operate production and transmission equipment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years minimum of shooting and editing in a professional or collegiate environment.
• Working knowledge of ENG and/or cinema-style cameras.
• Experience with ENPS (preferred but not necessary).
• A willingness to work a wide variety of hours/days.
• Intermediate to advanced editing skills (Adobe Premiere).
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds of weight for an extended period of time and physical ability to move quickly while carrying equipment when needed.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Live/work in the New York Metro area.
• Understanding and/or working knowledge of bonded cellular devices such as LiveU and TVU.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $37,500.00 - $61,607.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
