Dion Lee is a unisex designer brand, based in New York City. The Dion Lee aesthetic is technical with an intelligent sensuality. Each collection marries innovative construction, with a consciousness of the form. Textiles are engineered to form sculptural embellishments.

We are seeking a freelance Fashion Illustrator to work alongside our Runway and Special Projects team to execute renderings on a project basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand garment construction from flat sketch and translate into a high-quality digital rendering.
• Further develop a clear, innovative, and well-defined illustration style and aesthetic of Dion Lee.
• Communicate with the Runway & Special Projects team to discuss needs and vision for upcoming projects.
• Sketch renderings by hand or design using digital tools in a timely manner.
• Create initial drafts before finalizing images.
• Take and deliver on specific direction, reworking illustrations as requested.
• Estimate and manage deadlines for projects.
• Learn and apply new concepts quickly.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have 2+ years of digital or hand sketching, fashion illustration experience.
• Have a keen eye for cut and silhouette and the ability to interpret designer’s intention and brand’s handwriting.
• Strong knowledge of high-end garment finishes and complex garment construction.
• Demonstrate technological skills and advanced experience using various illustration software.
• Understand design concepts and think conceptually towards the greater brand vision.
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree or MFA in Illustration, and a record of creative professional work demonstrating artistic skills and style.
