Job Title: Contract Designer Contract Designers at Pivot play an integral part in the success of our clients. It is crucial that our files leave Pivot in pristine technical condition, free of errors, and ready to print or use digitally. Contract Designers often support other Creatives on the Client Team in fleshing out campaign concepts and must have the ability to work within established branding for our clients while maintaining a high level of quality in design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Works alongside brand ambassadors, web, video, and marketing teams in bringing to life client stories through visual presentation and provides support for rollouts of design concepts and tactics.
• Stays up to date with size requirements and best practices for digital and social platforms and share new insights with the team.
• Produces client tactics on time and of high quality with expert-level technical design knowledge and the ability to follow essential branding guidelines.
Additional Job Duties:
• Based on approved design concepts, resizes, and recreates layouts in various formats.
• Tactics may include but are not limited to: (billboard, direct mail, advertisements, bill inserts, etc.) and digital (social media graphics, web display ads, email images, etc).
• Proofs work for consistency, grammatical and spelling accuracy, and accuracy of graphic details.
• Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, printers, etc.
• Executes tasks with quality and timeliness.
• Obtains approval of work by collaborating with our Creatives on the Client Team.
• Able to learn and retain branding guidelines for multiple clients.
• May occasionally help brainstorm marketing ideas and new campaign concepts.
• May occasionally help onboard contractors and assist with technical or process questions.
• Continues education on current design trends and technological applications by utilizing resources such as online classes and tutorials, workshops, professional publications, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
Technical Competencies:
• Possesses expert-level technical design knowledge and understands the difference between color modes, final file type requirements, and applications of different file types.
• Maintains appropriate file structure and naming conventions.
• Prepares files for print/prepress and digital output.
• Ability to use Photoshop to remove backgrounds in photos with high attention to detail.
• Expert-level control of typography and hierarchy.
