We are a successful media company, with a range of publications reporting on the global gaming industry through our signature US brand, Gaming America.

We are looking for a US-based Content Writer (must be Las Vegas-based) to work as an on-the-ground journalist for our American-facing publication Gaming America. This role would involve joining our professional, industry-leading editorial team on a long-term contract – on a Part-time basis.

About the role

This role is ideally suited for a freelance journalist looking for part-time work, or for a writer looking to work mornings.

Your duties would include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Sourcing and writing several daily news stories for the publication’s website, as well as the occasional feature or exclusive interview content.
• Providing feedback about industry trends and topics, working closely with the Editor, who is based in our head office in London, UK.
• Becoming a reliable part of the team, able to break news before the competition and identify a must-not-miss news item.

Essential requirements

The successful applicant will:

• Possess strong news writing ability, and the ability to write concisely and quickly – without speed coming at the expense of quality, but also being able to break news without any delays.
• Have experience in a full-time journalism role or regular freelance writing.
• Be a persistent worker who is prepared to go the extra mile and takes thorough care over their work.
• The journalistic desire to get to a story first and beat the competition – which is what we pride ourselves on here.
• Be willing to, when required, meet Vegas-based contacts and help the commercial team expand its contact base (Covid-19 permitting)
