You must have a track record of fostering collaboration and be able to identify coverage of wide interest to the news network. You must be able to work swiftly and accurately on tight deadlines and help others to do so. You excel at planning and multi-tasking. Experience with project management is a plus, but not required. Applicants should have at least two years of full-time experience at an AP bureau or regional desk, a digital news outlet or a daily newspaper.

We’re looking for someone who works effectively as part of a team. You have a great news sense, helping to ensure a broad range of coverage of wide interest is shared, and you’re able to identify stories that people will want to share, like and talk about on social media and other platforms. You’re eager to pursue innovative and inclusive coverage techniques while maintaining AP’s standards for integrity and objectivity. As an AP journalist, you must be able to and willing to work at night and on weekends as coverage demands.

We will consider strong candidates who do not meet every listed qualification. You may use a cover letter to describe the unique qualifications you would bring to this role.
