Inside the Magic is the leading online site for Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Universal Studios, and more. We provide comprehensive coverage of entertainment news, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films. Our platform focuses on delivering engaging and unique content across various entertainment sectors, such as theme parks, movies, TV, video games, conventions, special events, and more. We are currently seeking passionate and creative freelance writers to contribute articles on an article-by-article basis.

Position: Freelance Writer

Responsibilities:

As a freelance writer for Inside the Magic, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Pitching unique story ideas related to entertainment news
• Writing engaging and well-researched articles
• Formatting articles according to our guidelines and providing estimated word counts
• Conducting research and interviews for in-depth and heavily reported pieces
• Incorporating editorial feedback and making necessary revisions

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

• Strong writing and research skills
• Ability to write in a clear, concise, and engaging manner
• Familiarity with AP style and SEO best practices
• Experience writing for online media
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Access to sources for original reporting

What We’re Looking for Right Now:

Currently, we are primarily interested in personal essays and long reads. Personal essays should be around 1,200 words, exploring timely topics through your personal experience. Long reads typically span at least 2,000 words, featuring a narrative structure, characters, and a timely hook. We encourage you to submit pitches that fall into these categories, but we are open to considering ideas that do not fit the standard categories.
