Overview:
Position Summary:
As a Customer Experience Designer, you will craft customer-centric design solutions that are focused on improving the experience of shopping for our customers. Throughout the strategy, design, and development lifecycle, the Customer Experience Designer will work collaboratively with a strong design team, product managers, developers and executives. The Customer Experience Designer will continually assist the Director to iterate and evolve the way we design for and learn from our customers. This is a contract position and we require this person to be on-site two days a week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design conceptual sketches, wireframe information architecture, high-fidelity mockups, and interaction specifications
- Collaborate with agile, multi-disciplinary teams to evaluate the feasibility of proposed features and create phased approaches to development.
- Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback.
- Be the UX design thought and executional leader for our team and larger organization.
- Develop personas, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.
- Mentor and develop designers within your own organization and beyond.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in web or graphic design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of industry experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar design-related role.
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions and patterns on mobile devices.
- Proficiency designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
- Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
- Experienced in performing user research or gathering quantitative customer data.
- Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
- Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills; demonstrated success in building buy-in for an innovative, bold, strategic vision. Fluent in English with a proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior management.
