Beyond Indigo Pets is looking for a new creative web designer to join our team of passionate and experienced digital marketing and creative professionals. Job Description:

The ideal candidate is an experienced website designer who is passionate about graphic design and proficient in hand-coded HTML5/SCSS/JS and mobile-first design. The ideal candidate is able to independently conceptualize and execute unique, creative website designs for the veterinary space from start to finish. THIS IS NOT A WORDPRESS/SHOPIFY/OR OTHER TEMPLATED CMS PLATFORM POSITION.

Responsibilities:

• Taking a project from concept to execution, including developing the overall look and feel of the website as a flat mockup (using Photoshop, Illustrator), developing your own website graphics, and coding the live pages.
• Incorporating feedback from key stakeholders and adjusting the design, functionality, and code as needed.
• You will be great at managing your time and projects, as well as getting input from clients, art director and project managers as needed.
• Developing your own designs to meet client brand, business, visualization and functionality needs.
• Coding custom website designs using HTML5, SCSS, and JS.
• Working directly with project managers and clients to determine website design and functionality needs; and working independently to create and execute designs.
• Produce error-free, semantic, ADA-compliant HTML5 and SCSS markup.
• Self-QA website and code.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of website design experience
• Minimum of 2 years of graphic design experience
• Availability to attend scheduled virtual project and client meetings during Central Time business hours
• Experience developing, working with and enhancing client branding in a digital space
• Strong graphic design skills with an emphasis on digital platforms
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in HTML5/CSS3 (SASS)
• Experience and knowledge of mobile-first website design
• Experience and understanding of UI design patterns
• Ability to work with established HTML5/SCSS code systems including flexbox grids and modular layouts
• Understanding of web speed constraints, asset optimization, minification, and web page speed testing
• Understanding of browser compatibility
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite
• Strong problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
• Proficiency in JavaScript and JQuery
• Proficiency in Photoshop and image compression for the web, newer JPG formats preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Arts or related field preferred
