Position: News Producer

Work time: Part/Full time or Freelance

Location: Miami, Florida, United States

Americano Media is looking for a Senior Producer with a strong track of demonstrated solid news judgment to orchestrate and deliver live content production during specific dayparts.

Our broadcast facility is a 24/7/365 operation. Candidates need to be available any shift, overnights, and weekends for a full-time role.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

• Possess a solid news editorial judgment to identify domestic and international news events.
• Extensive control room experience and newsroom skills.
• Experienced with every aspect of running a news operation, including but not limited to producing, assignment desk, segment producing, writing, and the coordination of special events.
• Generates numerous stories under intense deadline pressure and changing deadlines.
• Responds quickly to breaking news and other events as warranted.
• Coaches and delegates responsibilities to a team of producers and assistant producers, and collaborates with the News Director, Head of Production, Assignment Manager, Washington Bureau, Special Events Director, and other stakeholders as coverage of the news is identified.
• Brings experience in producing daily news shows.
• Demonstrates Comprehensive knowledge of national and international news and public affairs.
• Capable of generating news stories, and planning and executing coverage of elections, political events, and cultural events pertaining to Americano’s vision and goals.
• Produces talk shows.
• Demonstrates knowledge of every aspect of running a news operation, including but not limited to producing, assignment desk, segment producing, writing, graphics, and coordinating special events.
• Fosters a collaborative work environment and stays when needed an extensive schedule when needed.
• Travels to different locations
• Possesses a strong understanding of the Hispanic market, specifically within entertainment.

III. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, technical school, Military training, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• TV Production or Broadcast studies or equivalent experience
• 3 years experience as a production assistant or experience in the broadcasting industry and understanding of the production
• Knowledge of politics and news coverage
• Bilingual: English/Spanish
• Experience editing with Avid Software, Adobe, or related software.

IV. Requirements

• Able to work with little or no direction
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking ability.
• Familiarity with all aspects of production
• Strong knowledge of current political events
• Working knowledge of video equipment and software
• Interested candidates must submit a resume
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, late-breaking news, and hurricane emergencies.
• Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
