Job Description:
Looking for traveling photographers and videographers for dance competition events for our 2022/2023 season!
Requirements:
- Action shooting experience in dance, theater, gymnastics, or sports.
- Competition dance experience is a plus.
- Ability to setup and breakdown gear provided at the events.
- Ability to upload content post-event.
- Experience with annotation on a laptop is a must.
- Familiarity with the dance world is a plus.
- Covid Vaccine strongly suggested.
- Must be 18 and pass a background check.
- Preference to those with a license to drive.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the camera as you wish, provided the equipment.
- Travel to events throughout the country.
- Properly annotate dancer numbers on a laptop.
- Ability to listen in on event for start and stop cues.
- Food, room, travel, and appropriate incidentals are always covered.
- Appropriate breaks throughout the event.
- Able to work and learn alongside your peers from other parts of the states.
Hours and Schedule:

- Total hours are usually less than 30 per weekend, over 3 days.
- This includes shorter days on the first/last day.
- Half a day rate will be given for the first day, which is usually setup only.
- Deviation from this usually involves an extra day on the tail end.
- Hours at about or less than 9.
- Appropriate breaks throughout the event. This includes short restroom breaks, and larger meal breaks.
- Wages are distributed bi-weekly, though invoice at the end of the event.
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay: $220.00 - $270.00 per day.
- Flexible schedule.
- Benefits: Supplemental pay types, Bonus pay.
- Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
Equipment, License and Certification:
- No equipment is necessary for videographers.
- Audio monitoring headphones are provided for your use, but a personal set of noise blocking monitors are recommended due to the loud nature of these events.
- Photographers may want to bring their own camera system due to the nature of settings/workflow.
- A 70-200 f/2.8 is required. Please note if you have this lens or not.
- Education: High school or equivalent (Required).
- Experience: Education in/OR Action Photo/Videography: 1 year (Required).
- License/Certification: Driver’s License (Preferred).
Additional Information:
- This position does involve setup and breakdown of gear provided from us at the events, as well as some uploading post event.
- You have the option to operate the camera as you wish, provided the equipment.
- Same Day Productions provides photo and video for many events throughout the year, using a network of contractors just like you.
