WE NEED TO SEE YOUR SPORTS REEL THAT DEMONSTRATES YOUR SKILLS.

We are a media company with locations in Southeast and Central Ohio looking to add a couple of talented freelance videographers for the current high school sports season. This is a legitimate freelance position that pays for your talent and abilities, not one of the many postings looking for free help. (We need videographers Zanesville, Cambridge, Columbus, Newark, New Philadelphia, and Akron/Canton.)

To shoot for us, you must be available every Friday night (Aug. 19 – Nov. 4) and be on site from 6-10:30 p.m. on those nights.

Reliable transportation is required.

You MUST have experience shooting sports from the sideline and off the shoulder (experience with prosumer cameras is a plus. We do provide the equipment.)

If you do not have experience shooting sports specifically then don’t apply.

WE NEED TO SEE YOUR SPORTS REEL THAT DEMONSTRATES YOUR SKILLS.

While there are plenty of talented videographers out there, shooting sports is a special craft. Being able to follow the ball and players in action is an essential part of this position.

Outside of the game action, our shooters will also be expected to capture the atmosphere of each game and its surroundings. During the editing process, we not only use the game action, but the other elements that football Friday nights so special. We typically get various shots from warm-ups, locker room speeches, and anything else that provides the excitement of playing under the lights. Also, you need to have a reliable cell phone with text messaging so that you can report back scoring updates from the games you are covering.

And finally, you cannot be socially awkward. With this position you will be around the players, coaches, and fans. While the job is to film, social interaction happens and the company needs to be represented in a positive light.

We have expectations for our shooters because we are dedicated to providing a high-end product to our clients.
