Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Photo Retoucher to provide support to the Lead Photo Retoucher. The main purpose of this role is to deliver high quality images that meet the gold standard of publications. The Part-Time Photo Retoucher is expected to utilize their expertise in photo retouching to meet clients’ needs and requirements. This includes receiving, editing, processing, and delivering of photos.

Essential Job Functions

  • Uses Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and other appropriate tools to manage files, batch process, color correct, composite, and manipulate images
  • Uses Dropbox to receive raw files and to upload deliverables
  • Works closely with photographers to produce images that meet the company’s standards and client requirements
  • Works closely with Studio Manager to meet project deadlines
  • Responds to clients’ general questions relating to deliverables and follows up on requests in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Personal PC with Mac OS, 16+ GB memory
  • Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom expertise, including batch processing, color correction, compositing, and manipulating images to create editorial photographs
  • Highly organized with excellent time-management skills, ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work rapidly to meet short deadlines
  • Clear and concise communication skills

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Lightroom and Photoshop)
  • Proficient in Mac OS and applications (Mail, Calendar, Messages, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud-based systems (Dropbox, WeTransfer, Google Drive)
  • Familiarity with remote connectivity tools (LogMeIn, TeamViewer, Zoom)
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Photo Retoucher
  • BA/BFA/BS in Photography or related field is preferred
  • Print prep knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Analog photography and film scanning experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of various archival methods is a plus
  • Video editing is a plus

Pay:

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location
