Social Media Manager & Content Producer (LA-based, remote/hybrid, contract, part-time position)

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a social media content producer who is passionate about creating social media content and community online. Virality is what you love.

  • You are a creative marketer with a passion for women’s equality, social justice, and believe we can change hearts and minds through culture.
  • Proven abilities working within tight deadlines, and a strong knowledge of social media trends, best practices, and video editing tools to deliver content that fosters online engagement and growth.
  • We expect you are up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and viral trends and formats. If you’re successful, you will ensure high levels of web traffic and social engagement across multiple platforms, drive engagement to CTAs, and help bring the organization’s campaigns and initiatives online.
  • You thrive in a social-first environment and always have you thumb on your device, fall asleep with your phone in your hand, and are current on what is #trending on IG, Tiktok, Twitter and even LinkedIn – not because it’s your job, but because you love it and it’s your way.
  • You are reporting to a group of executive talent and social media creators and strategists, who are experts in this domain and value your contributions. Data is a skill for you because as a social-first expert, it helps you stay competitive with the algorithm.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be based in Southern California and available to work in-person in Los Angeles on dedicated production days, at least twice a month.
  • Run the day-to-day execution of social media, including posting and community management across all platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook ( you are up to speed on all the latest features)
  • Editing/Producing content on-the-go for multiple channels (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter) You are happy to edit and produce content that is shared with you. You love creating videos that pop and capture people’s attention.
  • Design static-posts and graphic design elements for carousels, videos, reels, etc in a way that is bold, aesthetically pleasing, and promotes brand cohesion
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications, as well as platform best-practices
  • Conduct research and fact-check content to deliver accurate, reliable news to our social media channels
  • Drive strategies that keep the organization and its goals at the forefront of new social media trends, that are proven by testing and metrics
  • Optimize performance of owned social channels to cultivate and grow audiences
  • Constantly push creative boundaries in order to generate fresh, innovative, on-trend content that connects with audiences in new ways. You have a keen eye for excellence when it comes to each post.
  • Analyze performance on a weekly basis and use this to constantly evolve the calendar moving forward; Develop weekly and monthly reporting to be shared cross-functionally, and to adapt content strategize and optimize performance
  • Great time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and deliver within tight timeframes to stay current and contemporary with news cycles
  • Quick learner and self-starter who is comfortable taking the reins on a project with limited guidance.
  • Knowledge and interest in Iran, breaking news, social impact, and cause-driven work
  • Ideate and develop big ideas and added value programs for the organization
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics, performance marketing and operations
  • Proficient and comfortable with Squarespace and managing web hosts. Fluency in HTML is a plus
  • Flexible schedule including ability (and eagerness) to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends to publish and manage time-sensitive content
  • Interest in creating pre-production guidelines, formats, and research to ensure efficiency and quality during production

Requirements

  • 3+ years of success in digital marketing, production and social media management
  • Mastery of major social media platforms including (but not limited to) Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn
  • Excellent video editing skills and graphic design capability for social media content
  • Mastery of social media content creation tools such as Videoshop, InShot and in-platform editing features across TikTok and Instagram
  • Ability to deliver creative, aesthetic, visually dynamic content (text, image, and video)
  • Fluent in multiple social media planning and management tools such as Planoly, HootSuite, HubSpot, UNUM
  • Extensive experience utilizing data and analytics to measure campaigns and provide actionable recommendations
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Proficient and comfortable using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Analytical and multitasking skills
  • Degree in Marketing or relevant field preferred
