Job Description:
Our digital team leads the programming, scheduling, operations and measurement of a fast-growing portfolio of 24/7 linear and on-demand video channels streaming an array of sports and entertainment content. The team is hiring a Channel Producer to help devise, build and maintain HBCU Go’s channels portfolio.
In this role, you will work directly with a variety of digital publishing systems to operate daily channel schedules on the HBCU Go platforms and linear experiences on partner platforms. In addition, you will access numerous tools to gather performance data and derive insights that can be used to optimize channel lineups and drive consumption.
This is a hands-on role involving close collaboration with both creative and technical partners. We are seeking a highly motivated, intensely creative individual who can operate independently, is adept at swiftly handling change, has a “start-up” mentality, and is comfortable with troubleshooting challenges in constantly evolving technical systems.
Duties Responsibilities:
- Develop, program and manage a fast-growing portfolio of 24/7 linear and on-demand video channels streaming an array of content.
- Work with Art Director and Graphic Artists to create logos and fill videos for channels, bumps, and promos placed within unique HBCU Go channels.
- Responsible for maintaining proper ad/fill rate, crafting channel lineups, monitoring channel playback.
- Work with leadership to understand how data/revenue impacts channels.
- Responsible for accessing numerous tools to gather performance data and derive insights that can be used to optimize channel lineups and drive consumption.
- Other duties as required.
- Manage, proof and optimize metadata related to content programming.
- Coordinate with Production team on the delivery of creative assets.
- Collaborate with Programming team to ensure compliance with digital platform procedures.
- Facilitate third-party content to ensure compliance with HBCU GO programming stands.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum 1+ years experience with streaming media operations; film/TV/digital program scheduling experience a plus.
- General understanding of content publishing operations or administration for a streaming service.
- Working knowledge of data and analytics tools such as Looker.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Virtual Channels run 365/24/7, so occasional night and weekend work will be required.
- Ability and self-motivation to work effectively offsite and with remote teams.

- Experience working in a streaming media operations role preferred.
- Experience working with product and development teams.
- A passion for television and movies.
- Demonstrable ability to manage an ever-changing content pipeline 7 days a week.
- Self-starter and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask across multiple productions.
